AUDEZE EL-8 "A HEAD PHONE THAT STANDS AHEAD OF OHTERS

Audeze LLC. (Odyssey) made remarkable advance in 2015 by introducing a Lightning-connected pair, called the  EL- 8 , which integrates an amp and a digital-to-analog converter into the cable. This makes it possible to get the best and loudest sound from a pair of true audiophile headphones while relying on just an iPhone as the music source

The EL-8 has been  made beautifully.  A thin ribbon headband has a spring-loaded pad at the top of its curve, and they hug the head comfortably with a nice amount of clamp. The metal ear cups are ringed with wood veneer and capped with high-quality leather pads. Inside are the 100mm planar magnetic drivers—if you have the open-backs, the slots in the cups provide a nice visual

EL-8 has been considered as one of the best audio peripheral available currently in the world.

Breakthrough in the data transmission. "Photonic chips"

Traditional microprocessor chips being used in computing units from your smart phone to super computers transmits data with the help of electrical circuits.  This require lot of electrical energy and dependency on electrical energy makes limitation to the transmission speed.

The scientists of the Colorado university Boulder, in collaboration with the University of California and Berkeley and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) made a breakthrough in this limitation factor. They  have developed a technology to transmit data with the help of light which will increase the data transmission speed rapidly by consuming little amount of energy.  Photonics or light based technology  has been predicted as will revolutionize the computer technology.

The logic part of the chip which computes and executes programs have undergone significant changes and acquired much faster by time, the transmission part has lagged much behind. Because data is being passing through copper.

When the data is being transmitted by means of electrical circuits, there is a limitation in the speed of transmission.  But if the transmission is by means of photons the speed can be multiplied. The researchers have now achieved this goal, to break the impasse.  Hence the devices that are driven by microprocessors , like smart phone to super computers to data centers will make use of this innovative technology to acquire much needed pace.

Photonic memory has been tested earlier also. But its life was short and required a constant supply of light to work. This is the first “on-chip” optical memory that is nonvolatile, meaning that it does not require a constant supply of energy, and thus can provide long-term storage the way a hard drive can.
The basis of the technology is a so-called phase-change material. Light pulses can be used to switch the material between two distinct states—one in which the atoms are ordered, or crystalline, and one in which they are disordered, or amorphous. The researchers exploited this phenomenon to write and read information.

One particular attribute of this material makes it especially useful for memory storage. The researchers showed they could use light to put the material into mixed states—say, 10 percent crystalline and 90 percent amorphous, or 20 percent crystalline and 80 percent amorphous, and so on. Having more than just two states available for memory storage “means you can cram a lot more information” into the same space, says Harish Bhaskaran a professor of materials science and a nanoengineering expert at the University of Oxford, in the U.K. Bhaskaran, together with Wolfram Pernice , of the University of Münster, in Germany, led the research.

AIRBAR give your Laptop TOUCH FUNCTIONALITY

Its just an economic peripheral with USB connectivity. You just plug in the small scale like device in the USB drive and keep it on the bottom of the screen.  Alas !!! your static laptop screen will become touch screen.
AIRBAR

The company called Neonode have developed such a devise called "AirBar" which will use invisible light screen to enable this functionality to any computer screen. Any object come across the light field produced by the devise will trigger functioning of the AirBar. Hence besides direct touch of your finger it will work even with the touch of workers gloves or paint brush.   It will respond to all gestures same as modern mobile of laptops having touch screen functionality like pinch, swipe, zoom and scroll.

Currently it will only work with 15.6" display having Windows 7, 8, 8.1 or 10.   Neonode says they are working on Mac integrated option. So hopefully in the near future airbar become adaptable to most of our computer screens.

One of the main advantage of AirBar is that it does not require any software or stylus

And now "POWER FROM PAPER"

Sweden's Linkoping University become successful in developing a new sort of paper that can store electricity.  The power paper was made from cellulose fibers that were subjected to high-pressure water until they broke down into fibers as thin as 20 Nanometers in diameter. Next the fibers were coated in an electrically charged polymer and fashioned into a round sheet. Each sheet, which is 15 cm in diameter and a few tenths of mm thick can store as much as super capacitors. The material can be recharged hundreds of times and each charge only takes a few seconds.

ECO-FRIENDLY
The paper is waterproof and was created with no dangerous chemicals or materials.

The power paper currently holds four worlds records: highest charge and capacitance in organic electronic, highest measured current in an organic conductor, highest capacity to simultaneously conduct ions and electrons and highest transconductance in a transistor.

REVOLUTIONARY IDEA TO CONTROL INSTRUMENTS BY YOUR MOBILE PHONE.

MIT media have developed an app to control your digital instruments through your mobile phone. An augmented reality app let you draw connections between real lifE objects.
You just point your mobile camera towards the instrument . The instruments digital control panel will come to the mobile screen, from there you can control the instruments.

The app called “ Reality Editor” is made by a team of MIT media . The aim is to replace the use of internet by with more direct concept “ Connected objects” . Main part of the ambition is network is  “De centralized”
According to the CEO of the MIT media.company :  Instead of controlling the instruments by sending the data all over the world (by internet) you just control with your gadgets
You are also safe from the risk of hacking the data from the cloud.

This idea arrives in the wake of more and more instruments being controlled by online applications.  Wi-fi, Bluetooth or NFC standards are being used to work different objects like Car to smoke alarms.

At present compatible instruments are identified by stickers similar to QR codes.  Later it will be replaced by object recognition rather than this sort of identification

GOOGLE's QUANTUM COMPUTER TO BE 100 MILLION TIMES FASTER THAN YOUR COMPUTER

Google and NASA announced they are on their operations to launch worlds fastest computer D-Wave X2 Quantum computer which they say 100 million times faster than a traditional computer chip. It can answer certain problems within seconds rather than within years.

Google director of engineering, Hartmut Neven, said: “For a specific, carefully crafted proof-of-concept problem we achieve a 100-million-fold speed-up.”

In a blog post he added: “We found that for problem instances involving nearly 1,000 binary variables, quantum annealing significantly outperforms its classical counterpart, simulated annealing. It is more than 108 times faster than simulated annealing running on a single core.
“We also compared the quantum hardware to another algorithm called Quantum Monte Carlo. This is a method designed to emulate the behaviour of quantum systems, but it runs on conventional processors.
“While the scaling with size between these two methods is comparable, they are again separated by a large factor sometimes as high as 108.”

VIRTUAL REALITY : GOOGLE's NEXT VENTURE

Here is how it works. You should hold your phone in front of you, and slowly turn in a circle to film
the scene all around you.  Normally it take about 30 seconds to film. Then the app converts the image into 3D.  Google have launched last week an app work with the camera of smart phone to enable virtual reality. The App lets you take 3D panoramic pictures that you can view in googles headset Cardboard developed to view the pictures in virtual reality.

The phone start taking pictures in front, back and side  and you feel you are really there.

It is really a powerful way to feel the moment. Google says.

Other tech big shots like Samsung and FB also working on the same subject . For that face book has been working with VR goggle maker Oculus and Samsung also partnered with same team to attain this task.

Google have teamed up with action cam maker GoPro which help the common users to creat videos of virtual reality.

Li-fi :-100 TIMES FASTER DATA TRNASMISSION ; BEING ACCOMPLISHED THRU JUGNU

The Velmenni co. successfully tested the new mode of data

transmission; the Li-fi; the transmission of data by the help of

light.

Velmenni Jugnu is the next generation of smart LED bulbs that can transfer data through visible light.  Velmenni said"vthey are implementing the Li-Fi technology in  new range of LED bulbs. It refers to the wireless communication system which uses light as a medium of transport instead of traditional radio frequencies. Although the use of light in order to transmit data can be limited in comparison to radio waves, there is a great amount of possibilities that can be developed with the proper use of this technology.

This project has always been a dream project of Velmenni team. The team  have researched in the past and also developed a basic prototype to demonstrate Visible Light Communication. They transferred serial data synchronously from a PC/Laptop screen to a micro-controller board using visible light. A GUI was developed in MATLAB and a receiver circuit was made using Arduino and photodiodes. They successfully transferred a text file using this method. We only had to keep your micro-control board in front of the laptop screen (GUI) and the data was transferred wirelessly using visible light communication.
Now, they are on their way to implement this unique technology in their Smart LED bulb which can transfer data to other bulbs, mobile phones, and internet. They are also working on an android app which would receive data from Jugnu, The Smart LED bulb and would also transmit it back to the app.
