It is very early to comment about possibility of Ubuntu to overtake Android or iOs.

But the Mobile manufacturers like BQ "AQUARIUS E4.5 " is being launched with  Linux  Ubuntu.
The comments of the users seems to be promising.

ANDROID WEAR 5.1; THE SPINNING WHEEL OF SMART WATCH

ANDROID WEAR 5.1 have transformed the watch to an elevated level of multi task device rather than a device to check time or make alarm.

As Android wear is the heart, it is all about cards, Cards can be apps, notifications, information, controls and interactive tiles. They pop up as and when required for glanceable information and more.

Navigating android wear is easy. Swipe to left,right , up and down for more, cancel, scroll and hide respectively. Tapping the watch face will brings up the app launcher. In short the style and place of tapping on the watch will decide the functions to be accomplished.

The nightstand mode, which displays the time, date, charge state and next alarm in a green hue reminiscent of monochrome LCD alarm clocks. It works well given the Apple Watch has to be charged over night – but no change there to battery life.

The time is displayed when the screen or buttons are touched, while hitting the side button turns the alarm off or the crown to snooze. It works better on a phone as an alarm clock.

The presence of Siri, built-in Wi-Fi calling and many other features makes it as an asset.   Users can also reply to more messages with emojis, dictation and canned responses. Wi-Fi calling is also built-in, which means you don’t need a phone to place a call.

The release date is set on Early October .

PROJECT AURA :- GOOGLE'S ANOTHER PROJECT ON GOOGLE GLASS

Google have not bee abandoned  the Google glass project.  Instead they are working on the launching of re-vitalized glasses.  The project has been described as Glass & beyond .  The primary version of glass attracted lot of criticism as the wearer can record videos in public places without anybodies notice.  Next version is about 1 year away and the Aura team is working on to take the technology to new heights. 

YOTAPHONE 3 ; A PHONE WITH DOUBLE SCREEN

otaPhone 3 the double screen mobile phone of Russian tele-communication company Yota supposed be landed on 2016.  The most striking thing being rumored  is that YotaPhone 3 is coming  with  Sailfish OS.  Sailfish is a product of the company of former Nokia employees based at Helsinki . It is based on linux kernel.  So most of android based apps can run on the Jolla sailfish OS.  It was confirmed that China based ZTE will manufacture the device. According to Yota sources the price of the improved Yota 3 will be cheaper than Yota 2.

THE ISSUE OF ELECTROMAGNETIC SENSITIVITY

The term electromagnetic hypersensitivity (EHS) or wireless allergy or gadget allergy, is ascribed to a range of non-specific symptoms like headache and fatigue supposed to be due to heavy use of wireless communicating devices, especially those that emit electromagnetic radiation (EMR).

Common sources of this Wi-Fi emission include mobile phone signals, Wi-Fi hotspots, wi-fi enabled devices like tabs, cellphones, laptops and a lot of other gadgets.

The  issue was recently thrown in the limelight when a French court in a verdict granted  disability allowance to a woman who claimed to be experiencing discomfort from alleged EHS. She was forced to live in a countryside barn far away from the Wi-Fi and the Internet.

PROJECT ARA WORKING ON MORE EFFICIENT COMPONENTS

Project Ara’s release date has been pushed back to an undisclosed date in 2016. It has been assumed that Google is still working on resolving some issues regarding it s power consumption

The rep added, "We're confident that we're on the right track and working towards a launch in 2016" and noted that the Ara team is heads-down and hard at work to bring Ara to the people.

Third party modules for the project ara are on the gear and important one is Solid Energy, are coming with revolutionary batteries that have the double extended life of current batteries.

The company has developed an ultra-thin metal anode that has twice the density of of graphite and silicon anodes commonly used in smartphone batteries.

LATEST ANDROID PHONES WILL COME WITH REDUCED PRE INSTALLED GOOGLE APPS

After announcing that Android M will be called Marshmallow, it appears that Google is now relaxing rules for OEMs when it comes to pre-installed Google apps. The biggest indicator of this new change is the fact that the Google set apps on Samsung Galaxy Note 5 no longer comes with the Google + app. Of course, given that Google has been slowly killing off Google + ( a Google Plus sign-in is no longer required for instance to comment on YouTube), this could be the reason the app is missing from Note 5. 

But it would that there’s more to this saga of Google reducing the number of pre-installed suite of apps that OEMs have to install. According to a report on AndroidCentral, Google has tweaked rules for OEMs and certain apps are no longer mandatory for phone makers to get their version of Android approved.

APPLE PENCIL- YOU HOLD IT. BUT IT DOES NOT HOLD YOU BACK

JOLLA ; A PHOENIX FROM MEEGO ASHES ??

When Nokia abandoned the MeeGo they were of the assumption that it will be unsuitable for modern challenges of  Smart phone era. But a bunch of enthusiastic employees of Nokia decided to carry on with MeeGo. The result......Jolla smart phone propelled by Sailfish ; the improved version of MeeGo. Right now I can't say whether Sailfish is Phoenix bird taken birth from the ashes of MeeGo. Let's wait and see.

NOKIA RETURNING WITH ANDROID PHONE??

According to a Chinese technology web site Nokia is gearing up for the release of a smart phone by 2016.   Initially denied by Nokia but  official at Nokia said  they will expect the return to the Mobile phone arena under the non-complete clause lying  in the Nokia-Microsoft deal.  The name of the mobile could be C1.  

But the news may not be reliable as a similar rumor was around last December. But nothing came out. 
No specs are available right now.  The picture has been depicted in Chine web site "Weibo" a chinese social web site.  As like N1 released last year the C1 also would be produced by another company but will be designed by Nokia and possibility of gearing with Intel processor and 2GB RAM 

LATEST BLACKBERRY PHONE ANDROID

Blackberry will be launching its latest gadget on Android platform, Blackberry Venice,

Most probably Blackberry Venice will come with a QHD display, 3GB of RAM, 18MP rear camera, 5MP front camera, 1.8 GHz Hexa-core Snapdragon 808 processor, 5.4" display, and of course with high security features.  It is characterized by the presence of BB Qwerty keyboard .
